Galactic Traffic Controller

GTC is a game about handling the duties of a space traffic controller at a busy cargo spaceport. You have to give incoming ships landing clearance to land at the station so they can be unloaded and refueled by ground crews. It balances between keeping pads open for incoming ships, and offloading enough cargo to meet your shift quota.

How to Play:

• The game is split across three consoles in front of you where you control the entire operation.

• The left console displays incoming ships and their distance from the station on the left side screen, and the right side screen displays useful information about the ship you have selected on the left side screen.

• The center console displays the status of the station's landing pads. You can select a landing pad to issue a landing order to any ship arriving at the station.

• The right console displays the ground crews available to you. Issue them either a cargo unloading task or a refueling task.

• You have ten minutes to unload 1000 units of cargo to meet your shift quota, otherwise, you will get fired :(

Important gameplay tips:

• A ship has to have arrived at the station, meaning the distance displayed on the left console equals 0, for you to give them landing clearance.

• The white arcs above and below an occupied landing pad denote how much cargo and fuel they have respectively. When you tell ground crews to work on that pad, they will increase the bar until it turns yellow, indicating they are done with that task.

• When a pad displays a checkmark, it is all good to take off. You can issue them a takeoff order by selecting the check-marked pad.

Keyboard Controls:

• 1 - Focus on the Left console.
• 2 - Focus on the center console.
• 3 - Focus on the right console.
• 4 - Focus on the viewport of the station
• W - Move up on a console.
• S - Move down on a console.
• A - Move left on a console.
• D - Move right on a console.
• Spacebar - Select whatever element you are currently on while looking at a console.

Known Issues:

• When looking at the right console, you can get stuck in the menu. To fix this, just switch your focus to another console and then look back.
• If you issue a landing or takeoff order while the ATC message still plays, it will override the one currently playing with the new one.
